I've never done this before, but I had to let everyone know how wonderful Nichole LuMaye is. I live out of town and I discovered Nichole about a year ago. She's an incredible stylist and a real artist with color. I have never been happier with a stylist.I now plan my trips home to see the family around my hair!!! I highly recommend Nichole and Samuel Cole.

If you are a blonde you must see Nichole. I have been bouncing around to salons trying to find someone to give me my perfect blonde and I finally got it. In the past I was so dissapointed that I even tried box color at home. She took the time to go through pictures and fully discuss all my likes and dislikes.I left the salon with the most beautiful color I have ever had. Not only was it beautiful Nichole was also very concerned about the health of my hair and made sure that we chose an option that would allow me to keep my hair long and pretty. I have already had several compliments. Trust me and go see her. Thank you Nichole. See you soon.
Pros: Beautiful salon and amazing color
Cons: can not tip on a credit card

Yvette is very talented, skilled and has a wonderful personality. She is the only hair colorist in Raleigh who has been able to turn my very dark hair to "healthy" blonde without it falling out or turning funky orange/yellow. She is a GODsend!!!! I have to emphasize how healthy my hair (even though has been highlighted all over) is becuz of Yvette, Jack and Bumble and Bumble. AS well as KUDOs to ALL THE STYLISTS who are always friendly and give me advice when I ask them about products and how to use them. Our appt had finished. She was very busy when I was leaving .But I had ? about the makeup they apply and sell. Yvette patiently took the time to help me with my questions.. Yvette is also a talented Makeup artist. There is station in Samuel Cole that is used where anyone can make an appt. to get a makeup lesson or application. I asked my ? about foundation/coverup. I needed help with the correct color. She looked and put the foundation on my face and then put some of the powder over it. It was just a second but after that my skin looked velvet -like. I looked liek a different person becuz I had the quality foundation...it just made such a difference. it did not "melt" later in the day like the Jane Iredale liquid foundationI had on. That is another thing I want to try...Yvette's award winning makeover.!*! She has already made me over as a blonde, made over my skin with proper foundation and the next step is for me to learn how to put on makeup like an expert. An expert like Yvette. I have had skin problems my whole life. I hope ppl can understand how much it meant to me for her to have taken the time to demostrate the products. The product made my skin look so soft and fresh looking. I highly recommend making an appt for an Yvette makeup lesson appt. Those are some great products you can't get in the drugstore or department store. THANK YOU YVETTE!!!
Pros: There is so much to rave about but the best is EVERY CLIENT in the salon is happy.
Cons: I am not able to go in every week. haha. ; ) This place is wonderful.

I have moved around a lot and tried so many different salons and stylists in multiple states and I am sooo happy I finally found Erin. She seems to always read my mind.....my cut and color are exactly what i am looking for! She does a fantastic job and I am so happy I finally found a great stylist. She is a great conversationalist and is the only person who has ever been able to give me great eyebrows. I have wanted an arch in my brows for years and no one seems to do them correctly. Erin took her time and gave me the brows I have been wanting for a decade!! Thanks Erin!!!

Jay Ray, the owner, is a very thoughtful businessman. I had an experience in his salon where I wasn't happy, and he worked very hard to try to address my concerns. I would absolutely recommend the colorist, Yvette, who is new to Raleigh and working to build a clientele. She is very skilled and has a tremendous resume.

I'm new to Raleigh, so I used citysearch to find a salon. I'm used to paying a lot for hair, so I did not mind the prices. BUT- When I pay 200 dollars for a cut and color I expect to leave feeling fabulous and usually take business cards to distribute to all my friends when they compliment me. Unfortunately, I feel like I could have had an equally poor job for less than half the price at Fantastic Sams. Sorry to say, the business cards I got never left my wallet b/c I never got a compliment. My stylist was Nicole Lumaye, who was recommended by someone with curly hair on this website. She was nice to talk to. I have curly hair also, so I was very specific in what I wanted and what I did not want. I ended up getting almost exactly what I did not want. Other than the results of my style, the salon was nice looking and they gave me some iced tea. I would recommend trying a different stylist or a different salon all together.
Pros: iced tea
Cons: messy highlights, weak color, bad style, price

Don't go anywhere else in Raleigh. Samuel Cole is the best in RTP. Not only are they a HIGH END salon with the ABSOLUTE best cut and color hair artists in the world...but they are friendly and make you feel so welcome. If you have hair disasters like I have had Samuel Cole is the place to go to for therapy on an emotional level and a skill level. Jack was so kind he apologized for what the EVIL hair stylist has done. she did not even apologize even though she saw that she caused my hair to fall out . That just shows how much they care at Samuel Cole. I have to say that the trauma of going thru the horrible incident with the "evil" butcher who ruined my hair was actually a blessing in disguise. I would have never found Samuel Cole if it the horrible incident with that hack colorist had not happened. I was also introduced to Bumble and Bumble. I was not pushed on me. It was suggested. Thank goodness I took the suggestion. My hair had to be cut short becuz it was so damaged. But Jack is able to make it look wonderful. Yvette is the hair color artist I went to when I finally got the nerve up to get hi lits and go blond. She turned me into a blond and it not only looks good...all credit to her...but IT IS HEALTHY. YVETTE MADE MY DARK HAIR BLOND AND HEALTHY!!! THANK YOU JACK, JACK'S WIFE, YVETTE, AND EVERYONE AT SAMUEL COLE FOR THE SALON A PLEASURE 2 GO 2. LET ME NOT FORGET THE FRONT DESK ASSISTANTS WHO ARE SO FRIENDLY!!! THEY PUT YOU TO EASE AT ONCE. ALWAYS A BEAUTIFUL SMILE ON THEIR LOVELY FACES TO GO WITH THEIR LOVELY PERSONALITIES. THEY ALWAY OFFER YOU A DRINK OF COCOA, COFFEE, A SOFT DRINK, BEER AND WINE AS SOON AS YOU ARE IN THE SALON AND GIVE YOUR NAME FOR YOUR APPT. Also Salon Moxie is also a Samuel Cole owned salon. So check out www.salonmoxiecom as well. they are the rising stars for samuel cole!!! I JUST LOVE THEM AND WISH I COULD GO IN EVERY WEEK!!!
Pros: EVERYTHING!!! AND THEY GIVE TO SO MANY CHARITIES AS WELL.
Cons: MY HAIR DOESN'T GROW FAST ENUFF SO i CAN BACK SOONER.

I just want to say thanks to the lovely stylists at Samuel Cole. I was in a major hair rut and I left after a long Saturday afternoon feeling so beautiful. My hair is literally shining, the cut is exactly what I described (with no picture at all!). Sara is a wiz. Yvete colored my hair, so if there are any brunettes out there looking for a boost of color and shine - please give her a call. The salon atmosphere is great too, a place I would want to bring a girlfriend (and the chilled glass of Chardonay waiting for me at the hair bar was also a nice perk). I just moved to the Raleigh area and I can only guess I'll be getting my hair done here for years to come.

i have gone to samuel cole salon for a few years now and i have never had a complaint. Their prices are very reasonable for the amount of education they get which seems to be a lot, described by my stylist. I am writing this review because I feel it is ridiculous that someone would get on here to bash such a hard working and wonderful salon. don't be so quick to judge until you have experienced how wonderful it is.
Pros: great stylist, great quality, great atmosphere
Cons: none
