Wow... this classy place is hidden in the perfect little nook! We spent New Year's Eve with a group of friends and found a new favorite restaurant. This is a true Bistro. The setting is inviting and intimate, the lighting calm and relaxing. The food - amazing. The service - on point. It was a little warm inside, but that may have been due to the amount of customers for New Years Eve celebrations... 5 Stars for this 5 Points restaurant! Bravo! We'll be back very soon...

Pros: Wonderful food, great service

Everything about this restaurant was great! The wait staff were extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food was excellent, and the meat dishes that we ordered were cooked perfectly to temperature. They really went out of their ways to show us that our business was appreciated. This restaurant really has its act together, down to every little detail. For example, the waiters learn all of the customers' names from the reservations book, so that they can be greeted and addressed properly. The extensive wine list from well-known Californians to exceptional Bordeaux enhanced our evening to make our dining experience truly memorable. I look forward to my future meals at Bloomsbury Bistro, and you should check it out too!

Some friends and I bought the Citipass and love to use the coupons inside. We figure if we go somewhere with a coupon and the service and food are great - we will definitely make it a favorite to go to without acoupon. When we told the waitress we had a cooupon, she rolled her eyes and then had to verify we could use it. It stated that if we bought one entree, the other would be free. We wanted to buy their special that costs $25 and the "free" meal would be less, but were told by the waitress we couldn't use the coupon for the special. I don't know why as the 20% gratuity was added BEFORE the discount. So we actually spent less money there buying something cheaper. They jipped themselves a little profit being as our waitress was not nice, we didn't want to stay longer than what we had to stay. We would usually stay for beer, wine, dessert and coffee. 3 out of 4 of us were disappointed in our meal, but our taste may have been affected by customer service. But the 4th was deliciious. It was the Mahi-Mahi in broth. The tables were also so close that the table next to us began having a conversation with us because they heard what we were talking about. We didn't really mind this, but it was unexpected. Needless to say, we are not returning. We have money and can afford to eat there, but see that all customers are not created equal. It may just be that one waitress, but that's all we needed to stay away. I hope a food critic in disguise doesn't get treated the same. Then they are doomed.

Pros: Variety

Cons: Service, tables are too close

The food was exceptional and the waitstaff worked well together to see to our needs. However, the seating should be away from the kitchen door because we spent our entire dinner trying to ignore the loud yelling and foul language coming from the kitchen.

This was my first time eating at Bloomsbury and as my boyfriend and I left, we had already decided that it would be a new favorite! Having worked at a Bistro, my expectations were high and the entire experience proved to be exactly the type of service and food that I was expecting. The night started with soft, warm bread and butter. We went straight for the entrees and I ordered a steak with potatoes and mushrooms (I don't always eat just veggies). My steak was a perfect medium rare and seasoned just right. The mashed Bachelor Potatoes were delicious, full of bacon, cheese, I forget what else; I ate them all. They never made it to the take home box. My better half ordered something equally delicious, though I can't remember what all it was. I know that there were several meats involved, not just one main meat, and we tried bits and pieces of each other's meals. The atmosphere was quiet and refined. It was not too busy and when I called to make the reservation at the last minute, the hostess sounded genuinely happy that we were coming to eat. This was a perfect romantic evening for us! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

When family came to town for my birthday, we went here and we all loved our meals. The chicken was like nothing I've ever had before. Great service, great wine list, lovely decor.

That sums it up - excellent food - really. The service was great, nice - helpful people. That said - the restaurant needs to be redecorated. They have 1980's Chinese food restaurant black lacquer chairs, old carpet, blinds - no curtains (so the strip mall parking lot tends to show itself). The drop ceilings also give a cheap lighting. I realize this sounds snotty - I am not trying to be so - in fact - this place has great possibility - they just need to close on the ambiance and it could well be the triangle's best meal. Another oddball comment. The serving sizes could be 60% of what they were. I felt like i overate - as did my wife. Again - we loved the food and service - maybe the best food in the triangle.

The food is fabulous and the service is top-notch. Last time we went, I forgot to ask them to hold the bacon on the app and the waitress took it back graciously without my even asking. The wine suggestion was outstanding and well-educated. Perfect for the ultimate date night!

Pros: Service and food

Cons: Only con is close tables

Every time I recommend Bloomsbury Bistro to friends and/or coworkers, I hear nothing but rave reviews and thank-yous from those who enjoyed their wonderful dining experience. The food has been absolutely amazing every time I eat there and as the menu changes so frequently, I always look forward to seeing what Chef John Toler has put together for my next visit. I am from Chicago. lived in NYC, and Miami and I would put Bloomsbury up against any fancy big city restaurant. The service is impeccable, the portions perfect, and the price just right if you realize that expertly prepared food and fresh ingredients are going to cost more than your chain restaurant. As I see many of the same people over and over again, I know I am not the only one coming back for more!
