I have taken my family there several times. Always professional waitstaff, good food and very enjoyable atmosphere. Privacy is available if you need it.

Nice to go out and feel like i'm in an irish pub. Food was alright, service was a little lazy. It was a pub and i enjoyed the atmosphere enough to go again.
Pros: Nice atmosphere
Cons: food

After 8 or so visits to the Hibernia, I've really come to appreciate the place. Decor is old school, lots of dark wood across three separate rooms. Food follows basic pub fare: wings, sheperd's pie, sandwiches, etc. Nothing too exciting, just solid and reasonably priced. Service is really good, not only is the wait staff cute and personable, they know how to take care of their customers. It's rare when one of them isn't coming around to check on you. If you don't feel like hanging out indoors, there's a handful of tables around the outside of the Hibernia where you can watch the people go by on Glenwood. Overall a great spot for a casual date, meeting up with friends or just to grab a quick drink!
Pros: Great Service, Nice Relaxed Atmosphere

It was a beautiful day and we wanted to eat outside. I always wanted to try this place, now I'm sorry I did. My husband ordered the Blackend Tuna Salad and I got the Chicken Ceasar. The tuna was presented beautifully, unfortunatley, it looked better than it tasted which my husband said it was boring and tasteless. I tried a bite and agreed. My chicken ceasar was o.k. Nothing to write home about. The chicken was overcooked and dry. I will say that the dressing was good, but they should keep the packaged croutons. It's always nice to have a roll or bread with salad, there was none. We thought it was overpriced for what we got. On the plus side, the place is charming and the waitress was pleasant. It's not enough for us to return.

I've been going to the Hibernian every so often since it opened several years ago. I've always found the food to be very good, and the fish and chips to be the best around (the recently opened London Fish & Chips in Cary, while different, is the only F&Cs I've found to rival them). Hubby and I ate dinner at the Hib this past Saturday, early evening, at an outdoor table. We both had the special, fried green tomatoes with seared scallops and mango chutney. Delicious, even more so than I expected. I'm sorry sbag2278 had a bad experience, but with much more interesting selections on the menu, why would anyone order chicken fingers? I wouldn't be surprised if the cook saves his energy for the interesting dishes, and pulls the chicken fingers out of the freezer. We did find recently that they no longer serve curry. Very disappointing; their curry (with chips) was outstanding. They must have recently hired a kitchen manager who doesn't quite get the whole fish and chips thing. However the actual fish and chips are still great. The Hibernian has always been an unpretentious Irish pub (compared to theme-park Irish pubs like Tir Na Nog) that pours a good pint of Guinness. It's tripled in size over the years, and can get really loud and smoky on weekend evenings, when it turns into a major nightlife joint. The corners, crevices and bric-a-brac are starting to look a little grungy, the bathrooms are clean but almost shockingly small and basic, and the place could really use a better air-handling system, but if you're looking for a good pint, a great place to hang out with friends, and good food, this is it.
Pros: Great food and a no-nonsense pub atmosphere
Cons: Smoky, can get noisy on weekends

Took some friends from out of town here on Sunday night to show them a good time...Upon ordering the waitress kept saying, 'we're out of that', 'oh, we're out of that'...Turns out they were out of all of their soups, out of pita bread, out of spinach and artichoke dip, 'basically we only have one appetizer available' i can't remember what it was...We ordered some sandwiches and a friend ordered the chicken fingers....Upon getting our food we mused how it could be possible to screw up chicken fingers and sandwiches? The chicken fingers were dry and tasteless and the sandwiches were described as 'i could have made a better one at home'...I swear they used wonder bread... Completely sub-par experience and our out of town friends were dismayed...
Pros: Still thinking...
Cons: Food, service, lack of food in stock, completely empty

I really feel at home at this bar. They have ornate wooden decor mixed with Old School Irish flair. I love the food here, and it is always busy!
Pros: Music, good food and cute crowd.

This place makes you feel that you've traveled across the world to Irland. The food and the wait staff give you a feeling of authenication. The new expansion on Glenwood Ave. was much needed.

I have had the Curry Fries and then mostly beer. The Curry Fries should not be eaten with fingers, since it is hard to get the smell/taste out even with several washings!
Pros: Hot Waitresses
Cons: Crowded sometimes at night

I'm (very) much of a regular at the pub. Bar tenders know what i drink etc. Its a great place to hang out, eat, meet people, and great location. I take most of my bussiness clients there for dinner and drinks. In addition on the weekends its the best bar on Glenwood to hang out in...very comfortable. you can actually HAVE A CONVERSATION in there! great place to meet new people. and did i mention the waitresses!?
Pros: great location, food, service...freindly comfortable atmosphere.
