Duke gardens is a lovely way to spend the afternoon. Take a book or your studies and spread out on the field. If you have some extra time, wander through the forest paths. Bundle up, take a beau and find a secluded spot. The Gardens are full of visitors in the summer and spring-finding a parking space on the weekend is quite a challange. But the fall colors and brisk air are just as rewarding.
Pros: beautiful walks

Beautiful any time of year... each season brings something new and interesting. The best time to see the garden is in late May and June because the roses are in full bloom.
Pros: Free, Beautiful
Cons: Poor signage
